- Short Papers: Submissions of 5,000 words or less.
- Standard-Length Papers: Submissions between 5,000 and 12,000 words (about 7,000-8,000 words on average).
The average length of CHI papers is approximately 7,000–8,000 words, excluding references, figure/table captions, and appendices.
